Home Made Pin Nailer

In the process of building a studio/workshop for SWIMO (She Who I Must OBey), I am putting T&G pine for the ceiling, nailing them in through the tongue, as in flooring nailing. Since I'm not all that good with a nail set, especially when working on a ladder, I came up with the idea of a nail holder/nail set. I made it from a brass rod drilled through the size of the head of the nail I am using, then using a drive rod taken from my set of transfer punches. A brass cap is attached to the end of the drive rod. To hold the rod in place I used a piece of rubber from an inner tube, held on with copper wire. A piece of tape indicates the "set" position of the nail. The picture shows it. It works great!

No. It's to hold the nail while he whacks the rod with something he made that does the job of a hammer.

You know they make air nailers for this. I'm just sayin.

Actually that is a very cool and clever solution. I am impressed. I am not that good with a nail set either.
