Add says good condition needs switch. Have a 3100 but if this is a big upgrade may just do it.

    Thanks

all i see are a lightweight components and a plywood leg.
Don't think its much of a saw.

In all honesty it would take either a 2 hp or larger induction motor and a full blown cabinet saw before I would consider it an upgrade from the BT3x00 family of saw.

My son has the cast iron rigid saw and I would not trade to it from the BT3000 that I have. I would consider going to a cabinet saw or POSSIBLY, MAYBE, one of the new hybrids but none of them yet have given me a reason to move.

Most of the other saws are a down grade or at best a horizontal move from the BT3x00 family of saws in my opinion for what it is worth.

I pretty much agree with you.
          Love my BT.
Then again, always watching for that bargain upgrade.
Would go with a cabinet or, as you say, one of the hybrids.

That particular saw has a pretty crappy looking fence. The size, mass, power, and stability of several top contractor/hybrid saws would have some appeal as an upgrade, but be careful not to take any significant steps back....I believe that particular Rockwell saw is a step back overall.

Used contractor saws seem to pop up all the time. The Ridgid TS3650 has been on clearance since the new granite top saw came out. If you really want to upgrade, this is a nice saw and can be found around $399.00 if the Home Depots still have them. I am sure that Rockwell saw was good when it was new, but I think you would be too frustrated with it compared to how nicely the BT operates.

Well Art, I agree with you, and that's what I did. Nothing short of a modern featured cabinet saw was going to get me away from my bt, and now I have a pm2000. I didn't really even think about going with a contractor's saw from the bt, too much a like in ability, and too many loss in features.

Rockwell TS is it a bargain?

I doubt it. Looks like a Rockwell model 10 from the picture can't tell for sure.
If you are wanting to upgrade from a cheapie bench saw with a loud universal type motor....it may be somewhat better, but it ain't no cabinet saw! My opinion....not an upgrade from a BT3100 either, maybe at best a
                  lateral move here.

IMO, this saw would not be a bargain at $50.
