New Ridgid Hybrid Saw - R4511

Ridgid has unveiled a new hybrid saw called the R4511. It features a granite top, enclosed base, large handwheels, steel t-square fence, and the Herculift. No reports on motor or trunnion details, and no indications about a riving knife. Rumor has it that it will retail at $600, making it an outstanding price if it turns out to be a solid design.

It appears to have some common ground with the Steel City/Orion hybrids...the granite top is one clue, the cabinet that resembles the Craftsman 22114 is another, and the motor cover is yet a third strong clue. If that suspicion turns out to be true, I wonder if it's got cabinet mounted trunnions like the other SC/Orion hybrids?

That seems like quite a bit of saw for $600.

Wonder how the granite top will hold up to metal tenoning jigs, etc., being slid across it over the years?

Pass on the Granite topped saw... Sounds like a neat idea, but I have horrible visions of busting one of them...

From the pic, that looks like a splitter and not a true riving knife...

Gonna have to pass on that...

I'd be surprised if it is actually $600. But it will probably be dollar for dollar a top value with all the others at 700+. But if it is they will sell a lot of units.

Looks like a regular splitter. I love those handwheels and the mobile base. I can't tell much about the fence but it looks like a t-square of some type. Lot to like.

Weren't the new table saws being introduced required to have riving knives? The splitter(?) on the Ridgid looks different than the one on the Craftsman.

If it's got a riving knife, it might just be worth looking at. I am still concerned about that Granite top though...

It looks like a riving knife to me; the blade isn't raised all the way and there isn't much gap between the blade and knife. it also doesn't appear to mount to the back of the saw like the craftsman splitter does.

Wow that looks like a good use of a Gift Card Purchase with the Cashback rebate. Throw in a 10% coupon and I’d say it’s hands down the best table saw value on the market.

                          $ 599.00 Price
                          $539.10 10% Coupon
                          $576.84 After tax
$ 76.84 Left to pay after $500 gift card
$461.84 Amount paid for Gift Card + the amount the Card didn't cover = NET Price

I can see lots of benefits from a granite top. I dont think there is any worry from marking and think no rust or chances of warping.

One day I would love to upgrade from my BT but if I do I think I would want to go all the way to a solid 3hp beastie. If I ever get the chance to build myself a dedicated shop and dont have to wrry too much about cash (some chance ) then one of the new delta unisaws would be great

If I didnt already have my BT then this would be a great stepup from a basic tabletop saw. For $600 you get quite a lot and I would be there will be some intro offers once its available and given the frequent tool promos at HD getting at least 10% of shouldnt be too tough. The built in mobile base and granite top would have to be worth at least $200.

Looks to be left tilt as well, that's a really nice saw, at that price I'd recommend it to just about anyone. I may have considered that over the PM2000 if it were available at the time, nice friendly price point.

Not that I have pm2000 regret, far from it.
