    HF Wynn Cartridge conversion question

For those that have converted, can you tell me what the clearance required around the filter/unit is?

I am looking at doing some severe shop moding, including some new benchs or cabinets, and need this information for planning (one long, misc bench next to it, with my RAS in its middle).

    Thanks
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Virtually none. I have the Wynn spun bond polyester filter, and with the DC running normally, a hand held near the filter's pleats can detect only the barest breath of air movement.

The filter is about 2-1/2" smaller in diameter than the HF's inlet ring, so that alone creates 1"+ of clearance all around, and more when you consider that the filter is round and whatever you place next to the DC unit probably won't be. Also, the Wynn filters don't have beater bars so you don't need to allow for that.

As long as you don't seal the unit up in a closet that doesn't allow any air movement at all, it'll be fine.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for. Now I can set it at the edge of my long bench.

That is how I have mine setup. It roles into the space between the end of my bench and the wall, with a TV hanging on the wall right above it. Works great.
