T-Track Question and minor rant

I'm not totally sure that INCRA regular track is compatible with the INCRA stuff that has the channel with the measuring rule. You would think so.

Also, a big thanks to everybody who's encouraged this project--makes me feel less like an obsessive crank.

the above document describes the Incra tracks, the cross section at the bottom indicates to me that the reg track and the plus track have the same profile/characteristics in the top-facing track portion. the downfacing track in the plus version is for mounting the track.

So I'd say yes, they are compatible if you line them up correctly then parts will slide from one to the other and work with both.

I have used and like the aluminum track from Hartville tool and I also make my own tracks out of wood. Which I use is mainly a function of their length. I have had no issues with my wooden tracks but I trust the aluminum ones to hold up better and take more stress. On the other hand, they get expensive for long pieces. I have a wooden t-track on the flip-stop setup for my radial arm saw and compound miter saw. It is 8 feet long. I also routed a t-slot at the top of the rip fence facing piece for the BT3100 and the top of my router table fence mainly to hold feather boards but I also put a stop for cross cutting in the slot of the BT3100 and have a safety fence piece for the router table that mounts this way.

My table/fence setup on my drill press is all aluminum t-tracks. I find ways to use both types.
