    Bessey XCR

Our local Lowes stores have gone full out 100% Bessey, except for Irwin Quick Clamps. I mean, they don't have as many K-Bodys as I do but they try . . . Anyway, I have a clamping weakness and I want to remedy that with a small one handed operation for temporarily holding something in place. So I saw these 4 pks of Bessey XCRs for $9.99. Its a ratcheting 2" clamp. Man these things are great. I clamped one down on my desk and tried to pull it off and couldn't come close. What a great price on a great little clamp!

That's not a bad deal considering Irwin's version are $4.99 each. I like using these on the edges of bent lamination glue-ups.

I got a bunch of those by Wilton when they all went on clearance at Menards. I personally like the Yellow Irwin ones better- I've had trouble with the ratchet system slipping. But for the price not a bad deal.

I just picked up a 4-pack at Lowes this Saturday myself. I was a little leary at first, since they were packed in such a way that you can't try them out. But, given the brand, I figured they'd probably be worth the price. I haven't really used them, yet, but after playing with them, they seem like they'll work well.

        Regards,
        Tom

I use those things all the time. I like them better than the spring clamps. By the way, the Lowes in our area had been carrying their house brand Kobalt clamps that are almost identical, except for color. This weekend I found that the store nearest to me had a large box full of the Kobalt brand reduced to $4.98 for a set of 4. I bought another 4 sets.
