I have gone to the Darkside

The other day I saw Sarge's post about factory re-conditioned Unisaw packages for $1099. I've been looking to upgrade to a cabinet saw so I mentioned it to my wife just to see how it would go over. Her response shocked me. "Why are we even discussing it, go get it for that price" So this past saturday I picked up my Unisaw model 36-L31X-BC50R. After looking it over inside and out I couldn't find any signs that it had ever been used. No sawdust anywhere. I'm guessing it was originally damaged during shipping because you can see a scratch in the paint that has been fixed. Sometime this week I'm gonna pull a 220v line and fire this monster up. First project is gonna be a cabinet to go under the extension table.

I have no plans to leave all of the great people here at Bt3central. Even though I've crossed over to the darkside I'm still a Bt3'er deep down. I'll try to contribute as much as possible. Stay safe everyone.

This site may say "bt3central" but I have found it to much, much more than just about the saw, just like the subtitle says. I'm going to upscale my TS hopefully in the next few months but I won't ever leave this site. The knowledge base available here about all aspects of woodworking is beyond compare.

The weird thing was that I didn't have to use the jedi mind trick. I just found a good woman.

For six years my BT3 has served me well except for the shim problem which I took care of. But now I started having a problem with raising the blade. I've taken apart and cleaned everything and still no luck. Even made sure the splitter wasn't hitting. I've have been given the green light for my biggest project to date. Kitchen and bath cabinets. I know the BT3 is more than capable but with the blade adjustment acting up I didn't want to risk the saw breaking and me being stuck sawless halfway through a big project. Besides when I get a chance I will break it down and part it out so it can keep other BT's living longer.
