It is one of a number of posible conversions. There are actually 2 different cartridges available from Wynn that fit the HF 2hp DC. Other possible upgrades are bags with better filtering capabilities. I personally have the Wynn Paper/polyester conversion and am very happy with its performance. The other Wynn cartridge is a washable spun polyester but it's filtering performance is not quite as good.

it has a stadard 20" rim size. so there are many options, all of which upgrade the rather porous 30 micron bags.

wynn has two filters they selll to sit atop the HF DC.

Also Grizzly, PSI, and Jet sell replacement canisters with beater bars for the same purpose, the beater bars help clear the filter of fine dust, dropping it into the bags below.

Also Grizz and others sell filter bags that have 5 or 0.5 micron cuts.

HF now sells a canister filter for their 2hp dust collector. Its not cheap but at least you know it will fit without having to tweak it.

The Wynn paper/polyester cartridge filter fits the HF 2hp DC without any tweaking. it was very easy to install. It took me all of about 15 minutes.

I looked online and could not find it. Did you see it in a store?

I'm looking for a canister for my HF. The Wynn filters are intriguing, but I'd rather have one with the beater bar/paddles. The JDS is no longer available at Amazon, and I'm not familiar at all with the Jets.

Boy, that's a leap of faith! I'd be much more inclined to believe the Wynn setup would fit than anything HF sold. I mean the casters don't even fit when new out of the box!

I have the Grizz that fits the HF.

also available thru amazon i think.

Amazon also carries the Jet caniter upgrades but they include HW you don't need.

Found this page online a HOW TO CONVERT HF DC to Canister, not sure how well it'd work, but thought it might be useful. If anyone can recommend or warn against this article, please do. I do not make any representations.
