    HF Bandsaw blade tension

I have the HF 14" bandsaw and just added the tension release by grizzly that some here have done. My question is this. When I relaese the tension with the lever the blade does not completely detension it only seems to release to the next smaller blade on the scale. Is this normal or have I installed something wrong?

That sounds about right for a quick release tension system. They typically don't fully detension the blade. They just release enough tension that the blade doesn't take a set into the tire.

That may be the way the Grizzley release works but not the Carter release It has a partial and a full release point. It makes for very fast blade changes but is not a cheap add on. I guess it's a matter of getting what you pay for.

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

Will the Carter Quick Release fit on a Harbor Freight Bandsaw?

I have it on the HF bandsaw with the riser kit.

Thanks, I am going to wait until the Pomona WW Show to see if they will have some in their booth at a discounted price.

I don't know if it will fit on the HF saw, but it will double the value. Ba-dum bum!

              Regards,

No slam on the HF saw -- just a comment on the price of the Carter release.
