Does size matter?

Trying to see how to include images in-line, rather than as thumbnails.

This one should be small enough:

It's a dado jig, which I mention only so that there is text below the pic.

Regards,
Tom

Wow, nice dado jig, Tom. Is that Padauk? You're very discerning with your wood species. I noticed your picture posting test failed quite miserably. Perhaps you're retarded.

Here's another test of inline photos. It's my avatar which should definitely be small enough.

Here's more text at the bottom.

Regards,
Tom

What am I missing wrt showing pictures in line? I thought the size of the photo was what determined if it was included in line or at the bottom as a thumbnail, but there must be more to it than that.

Thanks,
Tom

As a matter of fact, it does.

I'm sure help will be along shortly.

hi tom,

are you using the 'paper clip' symbol on the top line to insert inline images? that's what i use and it seems to work, o.k. - as long as the image is less than 97kb.

Okay ... try this ......
1. start typing your text for your thread
2. when you get to where you want a picture, click the paperclip icon to "manage attachments"
3. upload your attachment and close the manager window
4. position your cursor where you want the picture, click the paperclip icon and select the appropriate picture that you want displayed
5. you should end up with something list this .... ... inserted into your reply
6. continue typing and repeat the attachment as necessary
Here's an example of what my above reply would look like in the editor window:

Next question, how can you do that for images already uploaded?

Maybe by getting the attachment ID from User CP, and manually typing the "attach" thing?

Let's try that once.

hi tom,

displaying images already uploaded is still a question mark as to how, or if, we can do that. i haven't been able to figure that out yet and i've talked to a few other forum members who haven't been able to either. it's no biggie as far as i'm concerned.

I think I'd miss it.

I wonder if posting from another server works for in line. Like this pic from Rockler:

Yep, seemed to preview OK, anyway. That was using the "insert image" as opposed to the "attach" tag.

Can't seem to do that with the URL of the images already uploaded to BT3 Central, though.

Regards,
Tom

This is a BIG issue for me!

I'm sure Sam will solve it (hope?).

ALL my uploaded pics should be available for me to attach to ANY post of mine - at any time.

Reasonable
