I found these things while browsing the internet. Bench pin clamps

They are good for clamping to the edge of your workbench and supporting small items that you saw, drill or grind or otherwise beat on. The wood can be somewhat sacrificial, drilling holes and slots to help hold and support odd shaped stuff, or using the holes to knock out spring pins or press fitted dowels.
So I figured I could make my own out of scraps and use the Rockler fence clamp to hold it in place. Was very quick to make, I'll have to see how useful it is.

Bottom - I added a couple of dowel pins to keep it from rotating when clamped. Rockler fence clamp.
