    Who's got a finish room?

I've started noodling on plans for my next and final shop. I've been poring over the 3 America's Best Shop magazines and other magazines I have and I'm struck by the number of huge shops that don't have a dedicated finish room. My few times playing with my HVLP sprayer and I'm hooked, but I don't have a dedicated spot to spray. I'll fix that in my next shop.

But I wondered, does anyone else have a dedicated spray room?

I have plastic drapes that I lower from the ceiling to make a 6x6 "room". Does that count?

I open the garage doors and my finish room is of infinite size.

I you are going to be making sawdust while you have paint or varnish drying, you will want separately ventilated areas for woodworking & finishing to keep the dust off the finish.

My new shop is going to have a combination finishing and storage room, measuring about 9' x 12'-8". I will park my sheet goods cart in it and, someday, a lathe on a mobile base. I may also park other lesser-used tools on mobile bases in this room. By rolling the sheet goods cart out into the main shop, I'll have room to do hand-applied finishes. By rolling out everything that's on wheels, I'll be able to spray.

I have a dedicated area. Like Larry, I use it for storage when not in actual use.

I have a powder coating room. It has a spray booth, oven, air compressor, Dust collector and storage shelves and a storage cabinet.
It is only a three sided building though. It will eventually get enclosed. No way I could powder coat otherwise. You think regular finishing can get messy? Don't hold a candle to plastic colored powder that melts when it gets hot.
