I have purchased a mid-size dust collector and have connected it to a run of about 20' of clear pipe with a planer at the far end and soon to be a mitre saw and floor pick-up in the middle. How is the best way to ground the pipe?

I think most of the advice will be that, unless it's a conductive plastic, you can't and that it's really not necessary. -
I've been doing a bunch of research on a DC system and would agree with RJWaldren. I'm not planning to ground my plastic pipe. However I think I am going to make sure I can take the long runs apart periodically to check for chip buildup. Apparently static electricity is not the problem. Chips and sawdust that settle in your ducting is a much bigger threat.Comment
