    Online veneers...

Now that my local "Independant Rockler retailer" has closed shop everything must go mailorder, or 2+ hours driving time one way.

The Rockler veneers were usually good quality but expensive. Are there any recommendations for good price/quality online dealers? There's alot out there and prices cover wide ranges, what stores have you guys had good luck with?

What kind of veneers are you looking for? Paper backed? 2 ply? Or 1/42" exotic veneer? I am soon to order some birdseye from veneeringsupplies, but have not yet tried them. I bought out my local rockler when they were selling off their fliches, and they've been pretty good, all 1/42" thick stuff.

Fortunately there's a Woodcraft and a Constantines both within 12 miles from me. I would rather drive the distance if I had to to hand pick what I needed. But, if you have to order online I recommend Constantines, check them out here. I've been a loyal customer since the last third of the last century. Check out their whole site...good stuff.

I had 2 sites bookmarked but haven't dealt with either of them. The first one may be the same one Kieth is talking about. Prices look reasonable. No prices listed on the second site so you would have to call them for more info.

I have bought from VeneerSupplies and their veneers are good and thick, but I
think they are a little pricey.

I have for the past few years been buying veneer off eBay, too. I have always
been pleased with my purchase but outbidding other eBayers is nerve racking.

As I get a little fancier with my veneer work, I keep looking at the certainlywood.com
website but haven't bought from them yet. They have a browsable veneer
menu and their prices seem decent.

Here's a guy thats real close to me. I've only dealt with him once, but plan to go back. I don't know how the prices compare, since I have'nt worked much with veneers, but I can tell you he seems like an honest guy and won't rip you off. http://www.homecraftveneer.com/
