Crawlspace flooring suggestions

My house has a basement and an attached crawlspace area. Nothing is vented to the outside and there's a dehumidifer down there year round. No water or moisture problems for the 3 years I've been here.

Currently the "floor" of the crawl is gravel topped by a plastic vapor barrier.

I'd love to put in a floor like this guy did here: http://www.komar.org/projects/crawlspace/ so that I could store stuff like holiday junk etc.

It looks like he used T&G OSB- is that what everyone would suggest? Do you think 5/8 would work, or?

That looks like it would work. If it is gravel I might skip the paver footings and lay PT framing directly on the vapor barrier. That gravel has probably been there long enough that it has settled as much as it is going to.

All the codes I've worked with have required all wood within a certain minimum distance -- typically 18" -- of exposed earth be pressure-treated. (This includes situations with a plastic vapor barrier covering the "exposed" earth, BTW.) Even if you're not concerned about strict code compliance, it's still good practice in order to help avoid problems sometime down the road.

The pavers would be easier to achieve a level plane for the framing. Gravel is too uneven unless you use 2A modifed and compact it. But 2A modified is a bad idea since it will hold moisture in the stone dust.

There's a company around here that installs crawl space liners, which make the space usable for storage. You could probably DIY it. Similar to this:
