Looking for Guidance on Where to Start!

    Hello,
I am new to this forum community and very excited to get involved ! I am looking forward to contributing and learning from the community.
Could someone guide me in the right direction for where to start? Are there any specific threads; resource ; areas of the forum that you would recommend for a newcomer?
Any advice on how to get the most out of this forum would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

WELCOME to Sawdustzone. We have several here that are Tech guys on different levels AND into woodworking. In answer to your question I have to ask some questions, if you don't mind>

What is your current level of woodworking?

What are your favorite tools and experience of use? Table Saw or Circular saw? Bandsaw or skill saw? Router? Planes or planer? What wood working tools do you have?

The easiest (to me) to get started is single board shelves. This can be accomplished with a circular saw and router with round over bits.

As to searching through the forum for information to begin, here is my list, and others may have a different list:

The best Forums to get started on - are:

    1. "Getting Started" forum

    2. "Project related discussions" forum

    3. "Finished projects" forum

    4. Questions: If you know forum that your questions are related to best, post it in that forum. You will find that the guys here don’t berate beginners questions or new members questions, and rarely say “Do a search” as opposed to answering the question. We do say “do a search” at times after answering and discussing the subject. We are NOT putting the question off, but seeing if the answers can be expanded upon in accordance with the need. We even do the search for the one asking most of the time.

    Again WELCOME!
