I am looking into getting a band saw fence for my newly purchase hf bs. Should I build one? Are there any good plans out there? Anyone have any examples? In the meantime I am going to build this one with an aluminum bar clamp from hf.

I have both built one and bought a Fast Trak when they went on closeout. There have been several good threads on both. I guess the answer is it depends. And yes, there are plenty of plans on the web. Both for free and for a cost.George AKA Rounder

I made one that's adjustable and surprisingly easy to make. I don't remember where for sure but I think it was one of the free downloads from Wood Magazine. Or if you want I can email it. It's in Adobe format.Comment

That'll do in a pinch, but the kind that locks down at one end (like the Fast Trak) will be much easier to adjust because it will lock down at a constant angle (parallel, prefereably, if you set it right) to the blade every time you move it. Also they're easy to make small tweaks in position on for making a precise width rip or crosscut.

I made a bandsaw fence for my HF BS. Woodworkers Journal published it in "Tricks of the Trade". Clamps to table front and rear, adjustable for drift, simple to make with scrap wood and a few nuts and bolts.
