It looks great. Is that pattern throughout larger pieces or just in places? Reminds me of fiddleback maple.

I have been on several times last night and today, I did not see the post. When it comes to SnakeWood in the title, I go for it.
Very good figure on the wood and Nice pen!
I'm curious, are you familiar with the fragile-ness of snakewood? It is highly prone to cracking in temperature extreme changes. SnakeWood stock does not crack as much, but in pens, when tubes are glued in - the glue and tube do not let it move as in contracting and expanding with temp and humidity swings, and it cracks. SnakeWood is one of the top two or thee woods for doing this. I said "two or three" because there might be more but I haven't heard of them. That leaves Snake Wood at the top for cracking.
That said, since I warned you, you probably are safe.
The way around cracking is not fool proof, but the latest thinking and practice by some (and yours truly) is: Drill with one size bit larger (1/64 or .1mm or .2mm etc), find and use flexible glue to allow it to expand and contract. There are a few flexible CA glues, and flexible epoxy glues too. Hard to find but they can be found, usually on Amazon.Last edited by leehljp; 01-24-2021, 10:26 PM.Hank Lee
