    This years Christmas gifts

Cedar boxes. 5 of 6 with cherry lids and one with cedar.

Finish is super blonde shellac. Interior is burgundy micro-suede over 1/8 inch foam board. Hasp is ball clasp from Lee Valley.

Aggravation board is Canary wood with sapele inlay.

    Finish is polyurethane.

Picture frames for two childhood friends. Poly over walnut. Matted with a Logan 450. That's me in the middle.

beautiful workmanship! I envy your giftees.

How did you do the inlay grooves - router, or hand? I'm sure you finished the strips before laying them in, right?

Thanks for the comments. Regarding the sapele inlay, I ran the assembled canary over my dado blade for each axis, then ran a 4 in. sapele board through my poorman's drillpress/planer until the thickness was right. Then ripped the inlay strips. I'm sure there are better ways, but it worked out pretty well.
