Nice - what's the deal about permits for a fence?

Depending on where you live, permits are sometimes required. Around here, I think you only need a permit if it's over 6' high.

Looks great. Since the fence is splitting your yard I wouldn't have gotten a permit either. My twnshp has tons of odd requirements that limit the gaps between stiles, etc. I luckily got a permit when I replaced my rear fence since the landlord behind me sued me and tried to extort money saying the old fence was his....Judge didn't buy it though. My rec is get the permit if it's close to the edge of your property.
