Sounds like you need a rip fence! There’s always several listed on eBay, however please be advised that many will not lock down at the back of the saw. If adjusting doesn't work, it may require replacing the block which is no longer available thru normal sources. But, there is a replacement available on eBay for under $50 that has worked well according to several posts on this forum.

FWIW New members don't have access to PM's until reaching an established post count, unless we made a change that I am not aware of. It is one of those things we put in place to fight spam accounts years ago.

So how is a newbie supposed to arrange to buy or sell without posting personal details on the open forum?

its a tradeoff. if you let people sign up today and use all facilities to buy and sell stuff, you open the members to potential scammers and fly by nighters.
By making the members be active for a while or at least registered for a while, it reduces the chance of scammers and con artists.
Its supposed to be a community of users more than classified service.

I don't know what the solution is.

I need a rip fence too! More accurately I need the thingy with a handle that locks it down. I think it's called a block. A chunk of mine broke off and it can no longer be used or repaired.
Any help/advice much appreciated. I have looked on eBay but all of the relevant postings do not seem to ship to Canada which is where the saw and I both live.
