probably not noticeable unless you often make full power requiring cuts like deep 2, 3 or 4" thick rips.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

      Tim,

Here's a BT3100 listed in Savage a two weeks ago. Might be worth a call if it's still available.

If a BT3000 motor will work, $40 and a trip to St. Michael might keep your project on schedule

All the motor rewind shops I ever dealt with won't bother with small motors at all.

that may well be true. It would have to come in around $100 to beat used motors although maybe under $200 compared to $250+ for a replacement new motor might be feasible if you can't find a used one.

$100 would be around 1-1/2 hours for skilled labor shops like motors and mechanics so it would hardly seem like they could disassemble and do the calculations and wind the replacement windings and replace bearings for $100.
I can see that they would go for repairing/rewinding bigger motors only.

Well I managed to land a used motor on eBay... so I'll be staying in the BT3100 camp for now, assuming it works properly.

            Thanks all for the advice...

Glad you found a replacement motor. Opps, didn't know you had to leave if your got rid of your bt3! I sold mine to a work friend and replaced it with a powermatic about a year ago. Just hung In here, kinda like the crowd.

I believe he meant the camp of BT3 users, not the website. The fine print in our banner says it all.
