Wayne's invariable rapid response by Wayne has me wondering- 1) is he like the Maytag repairman in the old ads, just sitting at a desk, waiting for the phone to ring, or 2) has a fond spot in his heart for all us galoots with B3K's? (or both?)

Years ago Tom Clinkscales or something close to that spelling provided exceptional service to BT3K owners with warranty issues. Ryobi in SC once had stellar customer service. This also helped fuel the almost cult like following in the glory days of BT3K production.

Received my replacement switch today - less than 48 hours after contacting Wayne, and in time for the weekend projects What service! Thanks Wayne!

Today on Sunday (8-25-2013), the switch on my BT3100 would not turn off. I took it apart and found it had been welded. I got online and searched for an replacement switch. The price ranged from $25.99 to $28.99 with shipping at the first being $9.99 and at the second $12.99 thereby making each place cost $38.98

While searching for a less expensive option I came across this thread. Even though I am a member, I have not visited this site in a while.

Seeing that the date of the original post (11-29-2007) worried me some. But the date of the last post (8-24-2012) gave me a little hope that replacement switches were still being sent out by Wayne Hill.

So, a year and a day after the last post I sent an email to Wayne Hill on a Sunday (today) not expecting a reply until Monday tomorrow at the earliest. Well six minutes later I got a reply - that right, 6 minutes after I sent my email I got the following reply.

            Robert,
I am still sending switches and will order one for you to be sent tomorrow.
Please feel free to update the posting to let others know this.
            Wayne

I am impressed with the speed of Mr. Wayne Hill's response - Hurrah. And Wayne if you see this - thank you for saving me $38.98

I received the switch this morning 10:15am on 8-27-2013. That is less than 48 from the time I sent my email. My thanks to Wayne and all.

48 hours is a long time when your saw won't turn off!..

Glad it came out good for you.

You mean I might be able to stop unplugging the cord to turn it off.

I do have the extension looped so I can turn it off with my foot.

I just purchased a BT3100 in good shape. I was wondering with all the discussion on the switches if there is a way to know if I have the original one (switch), or the newer/replacement one. Any pictures or other ways to know if it has been replaced?

                      Thanks,
                      Rob

Wayne hooked me up too. Just need to send the serial number.

                          Craftsman Models included

I just got a reply from Wayne confirming my CM 21829 is also covered. He wanted me to pass on to the group that the various craftsman versions of the BT3 are also included.

Thanks for the revival of this topic. I too received a replacement switch and its as easy as sending an email, include address, phone number, and ser. No. He also sent a copy of the owners manual a few days later. Great resource and huge thanks!

                              Fantastic Support

To echo the sentiments in this post, Wayne recently helped me with a switch for my older BT3000 which had failed. He was exceptionally helpful and the switch arrived within 1 day!

                              Thanks so much Wayne!

Had my switch burn out recently, and was very impressed to receive a replacement switch within a few days, more than I expected given the age of the saw.

But I was a little distracted when I went to replace it, and did not make a note of the connection scheme for the top two wires. Anyone happen to know which side takes the black wire and and which one takes the white wire?
