    Blade position

I am in the process of assembling my new BT3100. Looking at the saw from the front, the blade is very far to the left side of the throat plate. There is probably only 1/8" clearance between the blade and the throat plate on the left side. Is this normal?

Yes - the "extra" clearance on the right is to allow for the blade to be tilted when making bevel cuts.

    Ray.

That is what I thought, but I know enough not to assume too much. Thank you for your fast response.

        what Ray said.

As long as the blade lines up OK with the splitter part of your blade guard.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.
