THANKS for this. If anyone wants to check out a Festool, this is a good place to start.

      First one's free kids...😃😃😃😃😃

That is tempting. Very tempting. I'd have to get a vacuum with the sander, then I'd need...

I can't. I'm still suffering from my intro to a lathe.

Is this a "gateway" tool? Does this one get you hooked and then you have to buy more?

This Festool 125 sander was my first Festool purchase ($159). It is the best sander in my stable of 10 sanders. I might buy anther one at this price!

This Sander comes with a dust bag so you don't have to have a vac. The bag seems to do a pretty good job.

Do you have any of the Bosch ones? What would you say is the big differences or advantages of each? What about the sandpaper, as I am reading that their hole pattern is unique and you can't get sandpaper that matches up at places like the borg when you run out mid project.
              Thanks

Anyone seen the restrictions on the rebate are? It is one thing if these could be used for something like Systainers or sandpaper for the sander, it is another if this is only good on the power tools.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Rebate is only good for power tools.

Festool does have a unique hole patten but there are other non Festool companies that sell paper that match it. Or you can do what I did and go with Autonet (same as Abranet) and forget hole pattens all together. Just make sure to get an interface pad with it.

I decided to take the plunge. I have been thinking about a track saw, so the rebate will come in handy.

I do have 3 Bosch sanders, 4&5" ROS and 1/8 .sheet finish sander. The Festool 125 has less vibration so it is easier on your hands and fits my hands better. I'm not happy about the proprietary hole pattern paper. The paper does seem to last a lot longer than than over the counter paper for the Bosch. I use these small, sanders quite a lot, sometimes hours on end, and they just wear out. I hope the Festool will last. One side note..... I purchased a $19 B&D 1/8 sheet finish sander after trying it on a display table and it is the smoothest running and best finish sander I have ever had.... who should have though it?

I posted it yesterday on a scroll saw forum and a bunch read it. A couple took advantage of it, but today, the offer was closed. Several saw it yesterday and waited until today, but too late.

I ordered mine as soon as I saw your post. I could not pass that up!

Yah a vendor posted on another forum that festool told them to suspend new orders. Glad u got one. I'm surprised they didn't limit number of purchases. You know this will be on eBay and Craigslist real soon

This sander does not come with a bag. The regular edition probably will.
I have a little blog about my shop
