    Freud SD206 $64, SBOX8 $60

Freud SD206 6-Inch Professional Dado is on sale at Amazon for $63.74

Freud SBOX8 Box Joint Cutter Set is on sale for $59.93.

I noticed some Freud router bits had a sizable price drop too.

I've been waiting for the SD206 to go on sale again. Pulled the trigger on it.

      SD206 or DW7670

Would you recommend tee Freud over the DW7670? I think that is a pretty decent price, and it is the 8" versus 6". Any suggetions?

I've read other places that the 6" is plenty. 8" dados take more ooomph to turn so you strain your motor for what benefit? I have the 6" but have nothing to compare it to. The groove is not exactly flat & smooth.

Are you referring to the Dewalt or the Freud?
I swear I measured it right this time.

            An 8" will cut a 2 1/2" deep dado, a 6" will go 1 1/2" deep.

I've read good reports on the DeWalt, but dunno if it's worth another $30.

Sorry for being late to the fray...I've owned the SD208 and the DW7670, and think the 7670 has some definite advantages. It has twice the teeth for a cleaner cut, nice shim stock, an extra chipper, and a nicer case.

The SD206/208 is nice dado nonetheless...

There has been another slight price drop, it's now down to $60.55. Looks like a pretty good deal, considering I have a cheap $25 no-name Ebay special. I think I might just give it a whirl. Thanks for the heads up and the opinions on this product.

I picked it up two days ago after the second price drop (to $60 and change). About 2 minutes on the phone with Amazon customer service at 800-201-7575 got me down to the current price. Evidently this is good for up to 30 days from the ship date according to the phone rep.

Looking forward to faster dado plowing than my router!

                          Price went up

Dang. Last night at about 11pm, I checked Amazon and the price was still ~$57. I was tired and didn't have my wallet handy, so I went to bed. This morning at 9am I went back and the price had jumped back to $84.99 I guess I should have checked out last night. I really need it too for a project I have planned.

Should I still get it at $84.99, or wait to see if it drops again?
