I am contemplating picking up this Makita Compound Sliding Miter Saw:
Makita 1013FL ($538 after rebate w/ Free Shipping):
http://www.amazon.com/Makita-LS1013F...0?ie=UTF8&s=hi
I am getting it as a gift for someone and need to get it soon, and I could wait until a little after the holidays, if it'd be a better time to buy.
I was going to get the less expensive 1013L model ($492 after rebate):
http://www.amazon.com/Makita-LS1013L...0?ie=UTF8&s=hi
The 1013L is without the light (is the only difference the light?!) BUT the 1013L model does NOT qualify for the Makita 6390 DWPE 18V Drill kit (1/2" drill, 2 batts, chgr): http://www.makita.com/assets_promo/f...tersaw_MIR.pdf) whereas the 1013FL model DOES qualify.
Here is the breakdown:
$568 - $30 rebate -$100 gift Amazon certificate + FREE drill kit value: $158
So it "costs" $46 (=$538-$492) to get the drill kit, seems like a bargain still (and of course you do get that worklight on the saw!!)
QUESTIONS:
1) Shall I "go for it?" (or are there hotter deals out there?)
2) are there any other Amazon discounts or product codes I can combine to further reduce the price?
Also, for the $100 GC from Amazon, do they count the Original Price or Price after Rebate? (i.e. for the 1013L the price ducks below $500 to $492... would that qualify as $500 purchase for GC?? If not, big hassle trying to "fill in" the missing $8 w/ Makita power tools!)
Thanks,
David
