    HF workbench/sawhorse...

    Folks,

Do you think this is a good deal for $15:

    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47078

Since I have limited space in the garage, I was thinking of using two of these (plus rollers) to provide in/out-feed support... and something that could work with multiple machines (jointer, CMS etc)... especially in lieu of the MSUV going for $99 - which could be used only for a CMS.

In my case, I thought I could use a Herc-U-Lift for each of the machines (jointer, CMS etc) so I could move them in and out of the work area and place these two tables in the in/out-feed area...

    Thanks,
    /venkat

It is lightweight but probably worth $15. My planer lives on one.

I've used a similar piece for a number of years - I think it's really great.
      • The "vise" is quite useful - you can clamp one side much more than the other to accomodate odd shapes, and mine (and presumably the HF one) car be cranked down pretty hard
      • It's CHEAP, so you don't mind mutilating it
      • It folds and takes virtually no space

PS #1 I took attached a 1x1 cleat to a piece of plywood - I clamp the cleat and then it works well as small work table.
PS #2 Because the base is pretty small, I sometimes make it more stable by putting my foot on the bottom crossbar.
PS #3 I think it might be a mistake to buy one - get two! I saw the same ad, and I plan on getting two.

I have one and love it

I use it a lot more than I thought I would. They are on sale for $9.99 fairly often. My local store is having a 2 day sale next weekend that looks pretty good. It may be $9.99 then.
