Hey Houston, Are the skis and ice skates working?

I wondered how our Southern Cities weathered the snow and ice? Got any pictures of your rare snow?

We are only 30 miles south of Memphis and got about 2 inches by being on the north side of the blizzard. We totally were not expecting it. I had a 10 AM Physical Therapy rehab in south Memphis this morning. At 7:30 Linda asked me if I had looked outside. I said no. I looked and saw about 2 inches of powder snow. The temp was 14°. I looked at the street and being on a corner could see several blocks in different directions. That was slicky snow and Linda would have to drive. I called the PT, They were opened and canceled. They didn't have it there.

Just wondering how you fared, or enjoyed the treat, or pain!

    S. Ga here, started snowing about noon today. We probably have a good 3-4” at 9 pm tonight, temp to get down to low teens tomorrow with snow continuing until sometimes tomorrow. Looking for better than 5”.
I’ve never seen it snow more than 1.5” here, so this is something. My driveway started icing before 4pm today, and I haven’t heard a single vehicle on the nearby state highway all day. That’s a good thing because most of the farmers and good ole boys all have souped up, jacked up 4x4’s with monster mud tires. Those things would be as squirrely as trying to drive a harbor freight moving dolly.

Got a few inches. The night shots are when it started. They say it's going to hit 19° overnight Wednesday morning. (Tonight).

We got 8 inches about 2 weeks ago and made some good snow ice cream. We were not expecting this today, this far north.

I have to say it is just plain wrong that you southerners are hogging all the snow this year.

We're done with it. You can have it back.

I have had enough of this snow thing, so twistsol, you can have it all back. Having to get dressed up in cold weather gear is too much bother. I’m a flip flop and “t” shirt guy. I’d rather deal with the heat, humidity and gnats!

Send some snow up north. Here in northern Illinois, we have barely had any, extending our fall drought into winter. Many of you have gotten more snow in the south than us!

Drone shot, this morning I think, of Cape San Blas Fla. across St Joe Bay Fla from Port St Joe. I think this is about as far south as Tampa. One side of peninsula is St Joe bay, the other is Gulf of Mex. I don’t know if they have ever seen this much snow before!

I believe this snowstorm/blizzard is over for us! 60 degrees today, 70 degrees tomorrow with no signs of the 6” of snow we had dumped on us! Glad that’s over.
Plumbers profited from this storm. No only do Deep South southerner's not know how to drive on ice, it seems that they also don’t know how to protect their water pipes from freezing. At least they don’t have to be concerned with their cars and trucks rusting out because of salted roads! That’s a good thing!

Sorry been away. Not too many pics, but I got 4" of snowfall, been wet as all get out since then, and cool but not super cold. I stayed put with some hot tea and binge watching Youtube camping videos...

My camper van blew the transmission just before the storm, getting it rebuilt. It was a known issue when I got the van, part of the reason it was so inexpensive... Was hoping it would hold out a bit longer but can't win em all...
