Grandson is in college and sharing a rented house with three friends. They are hanging TVs and monitors all over the place and Grandson borrowed my old Zircon stud finder. Anyone want to place the odds on my getting it back? I'll probably just go buy a new one when I need one.

Trust me, nobody wants to hear/see me sing. It's one of those things you can't unsee/hear. Some time ago, I lent someone my clam-shell post hole digger (BIL I think) and it never returned. A few weeks ago, I lent my Son my 300 watt work light and stand so he could see to paint a stairwell. It"s still there. Fortunately, these tools aren't expensive to replace and due to their age, I'll likely replace with something of higher quality.
A couple of pizzas and a 12 pack won't cut it for four 20 year olds, especially since one of them works work Little Ceasers already.

As someone who has rented to college students, I'd be interested to see how, or if, or with what they patch the holes when they move out.

It appears the landlord is pretty much thrilled with them. They cleared the backyard of trash and debris, cleaned out the garage, covered the garage interior walls with plywood, cleared out the basement, painted the basement walls and covered the basement ceiling. They also ran CAT5 to the garage to support the
two flat screen TVs they put out there. They also built an L shaped bar in the garage and covered the floor with synthetic turf. They plan on spending four years there.

I remember a mutual friend of our group that was known to borrow and never return tools. When he got married all of us that had lost tools to him clipped photos of the lost tools from catalogs and glued them in our wedding gift cards and told him to enjoy them.

Well, I will miss my old Zircon Triscanner Pro SL as I'm betting it will not find its way back home. My Bday is coming up, so today I treated myself to a new Zircon hd900 as a replacement.
