  • Remember me?

Hi, my name is Sam. I used to hang out here a little bit, then life came calling. I adopted a couple of kids, and started raising them. Little League, Boy Scouts and such took me away from woodworking. I sold my BT3100 and most of my other tools and moved on to other hobbies.

Guess what? Those boys are grown and have moved on. I’ve changed jobs, added a couple new hobbies and dropped a few others. Recently, I rekindled an old one and bought a table saw and I’ve started making sawdust yet again. A lot has changed in the world and in the world of woodworking since my last “go round” in the hobby.

I look forward to getting reacquainted with some old friends here and meeting some new ones.

    Cheers!

    Hi Sam,
I do remember you. Not like some of the real old-timers (Loring, Hank, etc... ) but its been 15 years for me on this site, and like you, haven't had much time to make sawdust for the last couple years. Glad to see you back, and hope to be making some sawdust again soon too!

        Hello Sam,

The legend returns! Welcome back and I look forward to seeing your posts.

I joined the forum in December 2005, right after I bought my BT3100 and I recall reading many conversations with your name in the posts and contributions of that time. I don't recall actually exchanging texts with you personally, but I do remember that you were key to the BT3 forum.

I look forward to your future contributions,

        CWS

Well, hello again! It's so good to hear from you. I'm still mucking around with wood.

Wow. I went through a similar progression, used to hang out here a lot, then didn't. Just reactivated my account to get rid of my old BT3100, but I'm setting up a new shop so I thought I'd see what was going on.

Hey Sam. Good to see you here again! Some of the old guys have passed away. You saw the one with Bill (Dud). I remember that time well.

Don't be a stranger; welcome back; post some more.

Personally Pulling for Cincinnati this weekend (in spite of my Missouri family) - I guess you and your family are too. I have been a Burrows fan since he was at LSU and generally I am not an LSU fan.

Hi Sam! Good to see you back. Please don't try making box joints in 8' lengths of MDF using a Jointech Saw Train again.

Only if you take me back to Mamacita’s for dinner! I still think about that salsa.

Sadly, our Mamacita's became one of the pandemic victims.

If you guys want Mamacitas, come to the NASA area. NASA Parkway location is still open. I'll even give you guys a Daves disaster workshop tour. Warning though, you might get volunteered to help with the cleanup!

I might take you up on that. My son in law and I will be driving the luggage truck to Galveston in October for an extended family cruise. The other 25 are flying.
