    Live nativity?

Our Church wants to attempt to do a live nativity this Christmas. The organizer is thinking about using kids for the main actors as well as for some of the animal roles. I don't have all the details, so I'm not sure if she's thinking a display inside or out on the front lawn.

I know a string of churches on the main drag do this, but I've never paid attention to them before. Just wondering if you've done this and what worked/didn't work for you. I'm volunteering to make props and maybe one or both of my kids.

We used to do this in behind the church and invite the community to the event. We would ask for a food or cash donation to the local food bank. It was done in the early evening and would be lit up depending on the scene. The dialogue and sounds were prerecorded so the actors didn't have to remember any lines. After, everyone was invited into the hall for hot chocolate and snacks.
