    Affordable shipping to Canada.

Okay folks, I have a parcel that needs to get to Canada, however upon checking out shipping rates, I now need a cardiologist... WOW that's expensive...

Can anyone recommend an affordable shipping to Canada for a box that is approx 5 lbs?

Did you check USPS, Fedex, and UPS?

Yep. Lowest cost is $32.95. More than double what domestic shipping would cost...

Is the "If it fits...it ships" by USPS just for Continental US?

I think the po has flat rate priority to Canada now, which is what cabinetman is talking about. Probably the cheapest if they do.
Of course affordable is a relative term, we all have a different definition of that.

There is a flat rate international, that is the price I had posted. The same size flat rate box domestic ships for $12.95...

Ask the "being shipped to" if they have a U.S. ship to address. I get stuff I don't want to pay brokerage on shipped to a service just across the border. Most Canadians live close enough to be able to do this.

I can ship a small flat rate box to Canada for about $12.
The larger ones are considerably more.
I ship flat rate out west because it is a dollar or two cheaper than regular Priority.
I ship anything larger than a small flat rate to Canada, I use Priority International.
                Flat rates cost more.
I have tried every trick in the book to get better rates especially International, but for what I ship, none are better than USPS.
No broker fees, tariffs and only rarely a Customs charge.

Where do you get the flat rate box for international so cheap? Do they have them behind the counter?

                    The boxes are free.
I order them online, but can be picked up at the PO.
Only the small flat rate box is that cheap.
The others are drastically more. I print out labels online and that saves a little per package over paying for it at the PO.
