    Shoulda done that sooner...

Ever have one of those projects that you put off, whether due to not having the right tool, jig, or skills and once you got to it and got it done... you kicked yourself for not getting things together sooner?

I know I've put off a handful of projects because I never satisfactory results from using pegboard as a 'jig' for drilling shelf-pin holes. I finally 'splurged' and got one of Rockler's dedicated jigs for a shop-cart project and all I can say is 'WOW!!!' that made things a *lot* easier. Still managed to screw up one hole somehow (?!?) and lesson learned - drill the shelf pin holes before the pocket-hole screw holes, but thats why I did this on a shop project first. All in all, I was pretty tickled with the way things came out. Learned there are a few more 'gotchas' that I need to work out, but all in all pretty slick.

Now I just need to screw up the courage to work on drawer slides and whatnot for some roll-out drawers in my shop cabinet base (re-purposed kitchen cabinets...) in preparation for a kitchen cabinet project next year. Yee-haw.
All right, breaks over. Back on your heads!
