    Fund drive

Good afternoon ladies and gents -

Just wanted to remind everyone that the fund drive for BT3Central is going on. I know that the economy is down and everyone is having to tighten up the old belt a bit.

BUT... if we don't support this forum with our money... it's not going to be around much longer. Not a threat... just a fact of life.

Sam told me that the cost of the server for this forum is in the hundreds of dollars per month. That's not the kind of cost that he (Sam) is able to absorb within his personal budget.

So just a gentle reminder... if we don't give... BT3Central is going to go by the wayside!

To those that have already donated... a big thank you. We all enjoy this forum and appreciate you helping to make it possible to continue it. To those of you that haven't... please, at least consider a donation of some sort!

... and no... Sam didn't ask me to get on here to drum up cash.
Happy to have all 9 1/2 fingers!

Folks, I would like to chime in here. BT3Central is a great site, that has provided most, if not all of us with a valuable education, and like we all know, education costs money. For the skills I have learned about, and been helped with here alone, I would have spent a TON more money than my contributions cost me. And to top it off, I get to deal with some of the friendliest people on the internet.

As many of you may, or may not know, LOML and I have been down an income since Feb 2009, and have had an extra mouth to feed (and all the other ancillary costs involved with) due to having one of my brothers in law come to stay with us due to his failing health. So it's not like we are swimming in money. I feel strongly enough about this community, that I personally am upping my contribution for this year from the silver, to the gold level. I am hoping that those of you that can manage it, can do likewise...

If a big donation is a problem consider setting up a monthly donation. It's easy and reasonable painless.

Mine is in the mail...really...it got mailed 1-03-2011. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Well, now that I think about it, it should be at Sam's by now.

Mine is coming towards the middle of Jan. I had to close my PayPal account when I left Japan, and had to open a new one on this side. (PayPal's regulations!) However, their regulations on this side (USA) are different from those over there. I have opened a new account here (USA), but it will take me a week or so to get it activated for payments.

          It is coming.

Agreed, this forum could use some help on the funds.

Just pulled the trigger on PayPal to renew my membership. This is one of the most helpful and friendly sites of all the woodworking forums. Thanks to all for contributing.

As promised last year, I was able to get enough bills paid off to be able to donate. I'm doing the monthly plan to spread it out a little.

The value of all the advice and knowledge of this site is worth every penny I'm putting into the kitty, and then some.
