About a month ago my oldest daughter, 17, decided she wanted to make a stained glass window for a class project. She picked a picture, and we went to the glass shop, picked out all the colors of glass she'd need, some lead and a few other supplies. A few weeks ago I showed her how to cut glass and she practiced on a few scraps I had from my last project and then for the past three weekends she's been in the basement cutting and grinding glass. We spent the weekend in the garage assembling with a break last night for her to go to prom Saturday Night. She was up at 8 this morning and we nearly finished cutting and soldering the all the lead today before I had to leave for a flight.
She's going to build the frame for it while I'm gone this week. She loves doing it and we had a lot of fun working on it together. We did have to go find a professional to help us cut a perfect circle because it kept coming out lopsided when we did it. I think she's found a new hobby.
