for those of us who never had the pleasure of meeting niki, his photo was featured in issue 182, the march, 2008 issue of wood magazine on page 14. he won that month's award as "top tipster" for a table saw crosscut sled that cut picture frame miters (doubtlessly included in the previouisly linked PDF). the little bio that appeared under his photo referred to him as a "prolific tip-poster". talk about understatement. -
His efforts were truly unique. I'd like to repost a tribute and thank you to him while he was still alive.

It's nice to be reminded of Niki (and others). I recall that whenever I saw that he posted, I'd be anxious to see what he'd done - it was usually something brilliant that used commonly available tools/materials in an uncommon way. He is missed.Leave a comment:

mr_bill.....thanks, that did it. fios is great. 1200 pages in under 1 minute. and what a collection of stuff!
it's kind of humbling when you review all the neat things niki shared so selflessly, most of which he apparently created out of necessity. hopefully, i'll be able, in some small way, to demonstrate a similar sense of woodworking generosity.Leave a comment:

What sad news. He will be missed.
