    Thinking About Pie

No, not 3.14159 but the kind you eat. Specifically pecan pie and how good it is with whipped cream. Well that and whether it is called pee-can pie, puh-cahn pie or something else. I call it the former. My MIL calls it the latter. What say you?

No matter how you pronounce it, by the time you're done saying it, I've finished it off...

This came out of the oven this afternoon.

Mmmmm, apple pie! With a thick slice of American cheese on top.

Two punkin' pies coming out of the oven in a few minutes!

Whipped topping from a can or homemade or tupperwear style?

How do YOU eat your pie?

The old joke with me, is with a fork. Most people say they do to, then I ask, "but I bet you do it a slice at a time".

                    Pumpkin pie - yech, choke...

                    Now, pecan (pee-can), that's a pie.

pe-CAHN pie for my family and from a huge family group at that! A few in the family say "puh-CAHN".

I enjoy sharing a Thanksgiving dinner with other foreigners over here on TDay, but I am stingy with the pecan pie that LOML makes. She always makes two, one to share and one for me!

Love it with ice cream, or whip cream, or both! Nothing else comes close for me. LOML loves Apple pie but being a diabetic, she can't eat normal pies, so we make her a "splenda" apple pie.

We have a family recipe for a "fruit cake" of sorts that always gets raves. I have gotten to the point to telling everyone it is a "fruit cake" so that they won't taste it. Then I have it all for me - after the pecan pie.

I generally am not selfish and share food or needs with others, but my pecan pie and family recipe fruit cake - I offer small portions at the most!

My FIL always said he only liked two kinds of pie hot or cold. As for how to say it depends on my mood. Will be putting one in the oven this morning. I make mine with a little brandy sure is good.

I made two apple crumb pies yesterday, using the same reasoning!

Looks like only two of us likes minced meat pie.

I'm with Cman on Pumpkin pie, yuck!

I do however have a cherry pie the wife made that I'm waiting to have room to work my way through.
