    For all those that replied that the buttons are to keep from wiping the nose/mouth, why are they on the bottom of the sleeves?

        I think they may have initially been there for adjustment of the cuff. I know that is why they are there on a field jacket. Of course it is more practical and utilitarian that a suit coat.

        I think suits are our link back to times of dungeons and torture chambers. A bit milder than the rack for sure, but unless perfectly tailored, leaves one figgiting and uncomfortable during the wearing. Especially true on hot days.
