    It's Armed Forces Day

If you know anyone currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces make sure to say THANK YOU!

We have Memorial Day coming up to remember those who have died in our service. Veteran's Day to celebrate those who have completed their service. Armed Forces Day celebrates those currently serving but most have not heard of it, probably because we don't get a day off from work to drink beer and go shopping.

I've heard of it, just wasn't sure what it was. I am very grateful to those that have served, and those that are currently. Thanks to them, we get to enjoy the freedom in this country.

Thank you to any and all service men and women on this forum. Your sacrifices are greatly appreciated.

A combined observance the third Saturday of May, for all the US military actively serving. My SIL is on active duty in the AF. Lest we not forget Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May and ends on the third Sunday of May.

I asked my brother, he said they didn't even have a free lunch. But on the flip side he's back in Japan again for the moment after several jaunts to Iraq & Afghanistan so I think he's happy overall.

Myself and two other members of our R/C club spent the morning/early afternoon flying demos at a local Armed Forces Day celebration. It was a blast!!!! The guys from the Army National Guard took a real interest in the helos.

The local Veterans home was supposed to bring a group of vets out to be honored, but cancelled due to the threat from the swine flu.
