    What is this?

The senior center where I have done my woodworking for the last 15 years has been closed. The last task was to clean out all the cabinets, drawers, nooks, and crannys. It is hard to imagine all the 'stuff' that was in those spaces! Tools that no one knew were there, boxes/packs of sand paper (sheets, drums, and rolls), new saw blades that had never been opened, etc.

Almost everything could be identified but here is an item no one could identify. Can you?

Holddown of some kind that fits in a miter slot.

Yeah, if that black piece goes into a miter slot, I would have said a hold down of some sort also.
Either that or it's part of something, in which case you'll never figure it out, the rest of it is probably long gone!
