Male Or Female?

Since we've been talkin' pooches, can ya just look at a dogs FACE and tell if it is male or female?

Otherwise, I find it hard to tell. And it seems most other people do, or tend to assume dog=male, cat=female. I know many who tend to call all of our dogs he, and two of the three are girls.

If they are a pure bred I am familiar with, I can usually tell. Males in general have a bigger head and more muscular build. If you have two good boxers sitting side by side and one of each I could almost always tell. Same with Labs. Change to poodles or schnauzers and I might not even get 50/50. To me, my dogs look like what they are. I would like to think that if I posted pictures of them people would be able to tell.

I know people you can't tell just by looking at the face....

As an infectious disease physician, I can tell you sometimes you don't know looking at other body parts either.

That's why the chromosome test was invented...

One of my daughters has a pair of Shitzus, a male and a female. Most times I have a hard time telling them apart even when they're together.

I say top is female and the bottom is male. The blue collar didn't have any part in my decision either

Hey, I'm glad someone finally played

That's actually a green collar. I couldn't use the collars from the other two, one is pink and the other is blue. The dogs get color coded so that other people can tell them apart more easily.

Anyway, the one on top is male, and the bottom is female.

In answer to Cabinetman: Years ago in Hong Kong with a Chinese friend we stopped in front of the Bank of China that had two hugh lions flanking the portal. She asked me if I could tell which was the female. Her answer was; "The one with her mouth open!" I finally did get the meaning; off the wall Chinese humor.
