For TV it is easy, DVR all the way!! You can condense a one hour program into about 40 minutes.

I had only 2 calls at home, but probably 50 on my voicemail at work.

I hear you on this one. Painful campaign for senate here in MN, and apparently we're not done. After 2.3M+ votes the margin of difference was 400 and change and it looks like they're starting to lawyer up...

Yep. Looks like another month of "updates" on the news every night. One candidate is already saying the other should concede and save the taxpayers the money of the re-count.

Something that get me is the number of ways people manage to ignore the instructions and mis-mark their ballot. Hand counting will catch those but I wonder if it will make a difference.

Filling (darken) the circle, is a pretty simple instruction, plus the election officials repeat that to everyone that gets a ballot. At least that was done at my voting place. Someone who cannot follow those instructions maybe shouldn't vote. They were showing on tv that people put check marks in the circles, or circled the name on the ballot. Hello??????

When I saw that story, my first thought was along the lines of, "And we're going to trust these bozos to pick our leaders. HELP!"

IIRC, the Founders stipulated that a voter had to be minimum age 25 and a landowner. And, of coursec a white male. Even then they were worried that rabble would act with mob sensibilities, so they came up with the electoral college, who were thought be more sober judges of character.

Almost all of our calls were robo-calls.
The one live call I got resulted in my being removed from that party's call list after I told them I would vote for the person I stood up for at the caucus and that I considered the state races private info.

As for killing your land line be sure you know how your cell calls are routed, Mine go through a neighboring county, if I tell the 911 operator where I am they haven't a clue. With land lines 911 knows instantly where you are.

That used to be true, but now all cell phones have GPS capability so 911 operators can track you. I don't know if they can do it on a regular basis, or if it's only for extreme cases (lost hikers, kidnap victims, etc.)

Mine doesn't and I bet there a whole bunch of folks who don't. Reason being I discard all the offers for new phones because a new (more expensive) contract is involved.

I was told that old phones without GPS will be forced off the market at some point (I can't remember the date). The Gub'ment need to keep an eye on us somehow.

If only there was some way to verify this kind of thing. You know, a reference system of some kind. Sort of like a library, but in electronic form and available to everyone at the touch of a keyboard.

You think YOU GUYS are tired of the political ads etc. I work in the printing business and I have been up to my ears in political mailers for 3 solid months.
