David Mark classes - Santa Maria, CA

Doing my nightly browse on CL and saw this.

    http://ventura.craigslist.org/tls/873439582.html

David Marks, host of the DIY Channel show "Woodworks" is coming to Central City Tool Supply in Santa Maria for one weekend only. We have very limited spaces left for 2 courses.

    Sunday October 26th, 8:00 A.M.-Noon - FURNITURE DESIGN.
David will do a slideshow and lecture on furniture design. He will describe in detail how he proceeds through his creative process beginning with his various sources of inspiration and ending with a finished product. Question & Answer session will follow the presentation. This presentation includes 30 – 60 slides of furniture pieces.

    Sunday October 26th, 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. - SETTING UP AND RESAWING ON THE BANDSAW
David will perform a demonstration on how to determine the drift of the blade, setting up the fence, preparing stock and resawing veneers on the band saw. He will show you how to accurately cut veneers that are 3/32 of an inch thick. Finally, David will cover bandsaw setup in detail and there will be an open question & answer forum throughout.

Classes are $95.00 each, or $175.00 for both. Classes will be held at Central City Tool Supply, 2230 S. Depot Street, Santa Maria, CA. Please call Mike at 805-614-9111 to make reservations. Please visit our Website at centralcitytoolsupply.com for more information.

WHOA!!! that's only 45 mins from me!!

I'll have to scrap up $95

Funny that it is listed in the Ventura county CL. Santa Maria is in Santa Barbra county and closest to San Luis Obispo, but it isn't listed in either CL.

Those do not sound like David Marks type of Classes. He is into the more Artistic type wood working and finishing. Try to find his web site and check his schedule of classes he is giving.

Just checked his web site and he is giving those classes, I would pay $95 to see one of his woodworking classes.

Let us know how it goes Tom. If you have some pics or vids pls post them here. I'd go myself but the 3 hour drive each way probably wouldn't make it worth it
