    amazon price guarantee

As of 9/1/2008, Amazon will no longer reimburse you if the price of an item you purchased goes down within 30 days.
Any purchases made before that are protected.
Probably to make up for all the business they lost from charging tax in NY :-)

    Boy that sucks.
Ive used that many times over the years. Always justified an immediate purchase, since it was protected for 30 days. Will definately be more studious with future purchases.

It will probably make me cautious to the point that I will wait too long, the price will go back up, I'll be pi...well, very mad, and then not buy it from them at all. If they would decide to put something on sale, pick a price, sell the number they want and then change the price back up, it wouldn't be a big deal. But they must have dart boards they use for setting prices, and end up having too much fun throwing darts, or forget they already did that product. I'll continue to use Frozen Warrior's price watch, and the price will have to be at or close to the all time low price to get me to bite. Jim.

        That's unfortunate.

It was one of the things that set them apart and made me willing to spend a little more to buy from Amazon vs. some random vendor with the lowest price and no service.

Amazon seems to have lost its way lately...
