Last Monday, one of the bosses was getting ready to leave town (delayed 20th anniversary trip). He spent half the day on the phone (mostly stupid junk), or doing trip things that should have been done earlier (things like directions and contact info). Found out he lost his keys 10 minutes before we were supposed to leave there (1/2 hour after we should have been out). We left late.
Tuesday was my last day of "rest" (mom had a project, that went downhill, 50% of the prepackaged parts missing).
Worked 12 plus hour days the rest of the week, and before work, dealt with getting new keys made and getting the company truck back out to the bosses, so when he got back.
I should have been able to sleep in today, but no, had to wake up at 5:30 am. (couldn't sleep, but that is another story).
Off tomorrow, getting ready to leave for work now (last long day).
Hopefully going to stay in bed during my "weekend", tomorrow.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Friday night: worked on Beginning of School stuff, watched Olympics

Saturday: visited in-laws, ate a bunch of BBQ, watched Olympics, worked on Beginning of School stuff

Sunday: finished Beginning of School stuff, watched Olympics, made stir-fry

Monday: left Beginning of School stuff at home, cursed mightily, improvised First Day of School lessons, currently regrouping for "afternoon" classes (the second half of the day starts at 10:00 am)

Painted my garage cealing. Ugh, I hate painting "up", but it was worth it. My shop cealing was bare drywall, with all the joint compound marks. And, a big ole water stain from some time in the past. I believe the washing machine is directly above. It apparently leaked on a previous owner.
Next project: I bought some fake maple flooring from Ikea. The flooring is normally $1.19 per square foot. I got in in their as/is section for less then .50 per sf. My shop is a one car garage, with a 100 sf bump out. It's L shaped. I plan to put down the flooring in the bump out. It's a 12.5' x 7' room that I have a workbench, mitersaw, drill press, lathe and bandsaw in.
Someday I'll get pictures up of all this.

Stared at my shop, which requires a major redesign. New lathe and wide belt sander coming in.

Put on second coat of primer on the ~200 sq ft deck.

Got the vacation hotel reservation agreed with LOML and booked (half of Saturday for that!).

Saturday worked 1/2 day, then went to state fair and had a blast checking out the animals. Watched olympic coverage Sat. night.

Sunday removed over the range microwave to investigate problem. Fuses all tested good. Problem is probably magnetron. Then noticed the touch pad had a crack in it. Already knew handle was cracked and needed replacing, but also found a crack in the door. Mentally adding up cost of parts, I headed-out to find a new Microwave one.

So go to Best Buy and they have a GE in bisque which would be perfect. It had been returned and was marked down to $65 from $257. PERFECT. Wait, the guy says the glass table is missing. No biggie, I think, I can order one for what I'm saving. Upon further inspection, however, I notice it had been dropped and substantially dented.

Ended-up at Sears where they were on sale for $219 and I can pickup tomorrow. Not bad.

That was about it, lots of watching Olympic coverage between the above tasks.

                        Last Weekend

We were over in Vancouver for my son's wedding. Everything went well, we heartily approve of our new daughter-in-law; we like her family.
Sunday was gift opening then a Parkinson family reunion since we had so many of my relatives in town.
We were the last car to get on the 8PM ferry back to Vancouver Island Sunday night. (BUILD THE #$% BRIDGE!)
Monday back to building my new Roubu work bench to replace my shaky old-plywood-on-2x4 table.
