    LogMeIn

I thought I'd let you fellas know about this. It is remote access to your computer. It is web-based so does not require VPN, configuring a router, etc. A service runs on the target machine and you go to the LogMeIn website, sign on to your account and can see all of the target machines attached to your account. I use it for remote admin of my in-laws system and it helps a lot with any troubleshooting I have to do. I am not sure I'd do my banking across it but it works well enough for what I use it for.

Pretty cool, not exactly inexpensive though. It would probably be good for folks who are truely on DHCP.

I've been using Famatech's Radmin for quite some time now. I really like having the dual monitor capability of the new version.

Inexpensive? There is a free version. You can't get more inexpensive than that. The paid version lets you do more like file transfer, etc but email or ftp works well enough for that.

OK, I was looking at the Pro. That one is not exactly inexpensive.

Wow. I read the title as "Log Mein," like "chow mein" but with logs. Shows where my mind is today...

I setup a LogMeIn account so I can do remote tech support for my parents in
            another state. Works really well.
