OMG Synergite ( Fancy MDF) ROXORS

Okay, I am very very very excited to post about this material ( no I do not sell it, but I would if I could)

Synergite is a high-internal bond MDF that you can use with a nail gun with little to no splitting

    NO predrilling

No Screws ( unless you really, really want something to stay put forever)

I put 3 finish nails into the end of a 4" wide piece of the stuff ( butt joint) through a cabinet side and there was NO splitting,

    None, nada, zip, zilch, nothing

and the best part, it's only $2 - $3 a sheet more than good old Big Box MDF.

Oh, and I love my nail-gun it makes cabinetry go about a-bazillion time faster than those power-tap screws I got for this project

tap - tap - tap done.

can you tell I'm just a little excited.

    and way too coffee

Coffee the Souther Baptist drug of choice since 1782

I'd like to try it too. Sounds like it is a real timesaver.

the Wurth Group carries it, and just ask your local cabinet shop supply if they carry High Internal Bond MDF

          "your local cabinet shop supply"

I've always wondered where to find one of those. I'm sure they exist around here (baltimore), but they don't advertise to the public.

I once asked the local phone company about getting a business-to-business phone book, so I could find the places that commercial shops get things from. But they wanted to charge me several hundred dollars for a B2B yellow pages.

I found a cabinet and plywood supply shop in Memphis a few months ago and learned the vast difference between a place set up for trade with the general public versus cabinet makers and contractors. I felt like very awkward and out of place. Since I was scouting and did not have a particular project in mind, I felt like I was wasting the counterman's time. I tried looking on their website for a catalog of their products, but it was virtually useless.

I have a local lumber place I go to, but I have always wondered about the
"local cabinet shop" route, too, and I would probably feel the same way.

Yeah I noticed that. I pasted the wrong link. This one, 4th result down lists 10 shops and phone numbers that Google thinks are near him.

I tried using your google search, but substituted baltimore MD. Only got 3 cabinet makers.
When I searched "cabinet making supplies baltimore md" I got nothing really related.

I guess nobody does that sort of thing around here anymore...or they don't have web presence, anyway.

Even when I have used http://www.woodfinder.com/ for my zipcode to search for plywood, there's not much listed. I had to drive 35 miles to find stuff that was good. And then I could hardly afford it!

Google turned up this link for Baltimore:

If these shops are anything like the pro photo shops I used to frequent, they expect you to know what you want when you come through the door. They're there to handle you're order. That's not to say they won't help you after they get to know you (and you've spent some coin with them,) but they're not set up to teach.

                              Bob,

That's pretty much what it felt like. I kinda wanted to troll around in their warehouses to see what they stocked, but it was the kind of place where an employee would have to escort me around.
