    Things went great.....

today with our oldest sons tonsil/adnoid surgery. He did very well with every thing and the nurses were impressed with him when the nurse said something about a tournaquit (sp) and he explained what it was for. He has worked hard to get his first aid merit badge for Boy Scouts.

We are now home and he is resting well and still tired from the medicines and other things that he was given.

Now its time for the ice cream and slurpees and the other sweet cold things that he likes. And believe me I am relieved that this is all over, I think I was more concerned about it than he was.

It's been nearly 45 years since my tonsilectomy but I still remember getting ice cream! ...and I still remember getting that scary gas mask on the surgery table!

    Glad he pulled through!

Sounds great Melissa, I figured he'd be a trooper about it.

Let Richard know I have another pellet rifle for him to sight in for me the next time we are out that way.

Glad it went well. I'll have some ice cream to show my support.

Glad it went well. The first time (well each time, but especially the first time) someone is put under is a little scary. Our oldest had a terrible reaction to anesthesia and we were lucky that the gas passer knew what he was doing.

I've been wondering, Melissa, and of course we're glad it went well. You deserve some ice cream.

ps Dustmight, I believe you and I must have had ours at almost the same time, summer being when most of them were scheduled back then.

Glad there were no complications. Bummer of a way to spend the end of his summer vacation!

Now Melissa, you can go sit in the corner and have a good cry. It's tough when a child has to be in a hospital. After my brother had that surgury, his overall health improved greatly. Hope your young man has the same experience.

Thanks to everyone. We had a good night and he only came and woke me around 4 this morning saying that his tummy hurt but he wasn't sick I think it was cramps or just being hungry. Gave him some medicine and he went back to bed and slept till around 6:30 and he is now eating some cooled down oatmeal.

He got ice cream and applesauce and slurpees last night and all he wanted was to be near his mom, which I don't mind at all.

Thanks again for all the support you guys have given to me.
