Getting back up to par

Well fellows and ladies, I'm slowly getting back to where I was a couple of weeks ago. I went back to the doctor yesterday and the x-rays showed the ankle is healing nicly. I'm out of that darn cast and into a walking splint/boot contrapsion that I can take off at night and when I what to shower/bathe. I acutally think I'll be sleeping in it for a couple more days. I tried sleeping with out it last night and kept hitting/twisting the ankle (not fun). I can even go back to work on Monday!

Thanks for all your well wishes, I really think they helped!

News on my ex is not so good. She shatterd her heel and will be having reconstructive surgry Tuesday with at least a three day hospital stay. She faces about a year + recovery time. On the good side, my son has crawled out from the bed and rejoined the living!

Good luck--remember it's hard to get sawdust out of a cast once it gets in!

Having seen complications with many, many ankle fractures, that is one place I don't want to have a fracture. Glad yours is doing well.

Good to hear you are mending well. With the walking cast/splint you can hit the shop and slip it off when you are throuogh to blow it out!

As to the 'ex', do we wish her well in the surgery or do you have another preference????

Thanks everyone, I really appreicate it. I was back over at the old shop this morning trying to finish a few odds and ends that didn't get completed 2 weeks ago. Changed out the switch that operated the dust collector and replaced it with an outlet. I even got up on a very wide stepped step ladder, under very careful observation/supervision from SWMBO, to put a temporary patch on the roof's doghouse (where the dust collector went through the roof). Once my buddy Eddy gets back fron vacation, he's going to bring a plasma cuttter down and we will complete the job and get the collector back over here.

Yes, Pappy (and others) it's okay to wish the ex well, in fact I hope she makes a complete and rapid recovery as well. I certainly don't wish what she is about to go through on anybody.
